Fire & Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,

Some say in ice.

From what I’ve tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great,

And would suffice.

    @Bikram:It's difficult to understand what actually Robert Frost meant.The poem is tough in language & carries great elegance.
    From what I understood..he tries to depict the human intentions & how they can destroy us.
    The end of humanity is brought from two different extremities.
    Firstly,desire which makes man go to any extend to fulfill his wish.
    Secondly,hatred which blindfolds mans morals trying to destroy your opponent.
    When any of this happens we forget our happiness,possessions & responsibility ,and destroy ourselves.
    I guess he compares desire with fire & ice with hatred.Wat do you say??agree or have another opinions..I want to listen to your opinions to..

    Frost,one of the finest poets of his time wrote about life in a simple lyrical manner. Loved it!!
